My father likes Wheel Of Fortune so I try and watch it with him when I get home in the evening. Last night while they were introducing the players, each one would say who was with them and their personal info etc. the first male contestant said he had been married to his husband for 7 years. Say what? I don't have cable so when I get glimpses of the real world I'm a bit surprised. I was quite surprised and felt all tingly inside.

I'd like to see The Artist win best picture along with the actor and actress. I was skeptical when I went to see it. I thought I'd probably be bored and leave early. It's by a French director with French actors(what can I say? I'm like that.), it's filmed in black and white, it's SILENT. But I loved it and actually can't believe that I haven't seen it again.

My choice for actress is between these two, Meryl Streep and Michele Williams. Just PLEASE don't let Glenn Close win. I'm already nauseated at the thought of her acceptance speech.

As far as supporting actors, I'd like to see any of them win but the guy from Moneypit. I would prefer Chirstopher Plummer, Max Von Sydow, or Nick Nolte.

I'm just wishing really. I can't justify the majority of my choices at this point. I used to make it a point to see every movie possible that might be nominated. That's not the case anymore.

This kitchen has a few strikes against it for me, no window over the sink and it's size, to name a couple but I still like it. The contrast of the white cabinet doors and light blue/gray rails and stiles is quite refreshing.

I like the backsplash and undercabinet lighting as well as the dark tile floor.

Parts of the city got 6 inches of rain yesterday morning just at the end of rush hour. This arrives after a week of unseasonably warm weather. Mind you December was one of our most wet and cloudy, I believe 28 days of the 31, yet we still need rain.

Of course it all falls in an hour or so and wreaks havoc in the streets and some homes.

So much dead landscaping in the area due to the drought and no amount of rain will bring it back.

It seems like I've been running around in circles since Christmas. I can't seem to get my day to day routine or life in general organized. I finally got my Christmas decor put away but I am falling short in so many areas. I have realized part of this is due to the fact I only worked 9 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am out of practice. I haven't found my groove again so to speak. I was sooooo hoping, as always, to start the year out being better organized but so far it hasn't happened.

The Houston Texans finally made it to the playoffs this year and won yesterday against the Cincinnati Bengals 31-10. Now it's on to Philly and the Ravens to play which I am already full of dread.

Third string quarterback T.J. Yates has really come through for the team.

One out of four of these fans is my kind of guy. I'm just saying.

Season 2 Starts This Weekend

If you didn't in the first season, you will learn to hate these two characters, footman Thomas and lady's maid O'Brien, in season two of Masterpiece Theater's Downton Abbey which begins this Sunday on PBS. Then again, maybe they will redeem themselves this time around? There's aspects of the miniseries which I find a bit unbelievable, such as the closeness of the household and some of the staff members, but it is TV and quite entertaining, especially when you don't have cable.

I was planning on wearing a bow tie to work this week. I always like to do something new and exciting in the New Year. Don't you? But since I did so much of the same ole, same ole, from Thanksgiving to Christmas, my shirts are a bit snug. I didn't realize my neck ties were so handy at hiding my tortured button holes. So I will continue to wear a neck tie if not for my vanity then for the safety of my coworkers. I wouldn't want to cause them to lose an eye if I happen to pop a button. Yeah, it's that bad.
