My Father Wouldn't Go For It But

I always wanted a playhouse out back. Sure my thoughts were less than pure even then. Eventually though, he could have turned it into a nice garden shed of his own.

The Saddest Part:Damn You BP

An oil-covered pelican, left, sits on an island in Barataria Bay on the coast of Louisiana, Sunday, May 23, 2010. The island is home to hundreds of brown pelican nests as well at terns, gulls and roseate spoonbills and is being impacted by oil from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.

A Blast From The Past:"What's My Line"

I wonder sometimes how I learn what's on YouTube. Frequently, there's a link on a blog, or maybe someone will give me a heads up. There might be a clip mentioned in the newspaper or perhaps I just noticed it on the sidebar on YouTube.. I rarely just search a topic. So I happened upon old episodes of the TV show What's My Line and I think I have watched every one of them. Sure it gets annoying when panelist Bennett Cerf, a publisher, pictured at top asks every time it seems "Are you currently or do you plan or have you ever been in a Broadway show". But that's only because I'm watching back to back excerpts for an hour or so. At any rate, I vaguely remember this show and it's been a pleasant bit of nostalgia. Arlene Francis pictured on the left reminds me of my late mother with her smile and the way she speaks while smiling. Ahhh memories. Next, I'll be searching for The Partridge Family reruns.
