To Each And Everyone Of You!
Dear faithful readers,I want to wish you the best for this holiday season. If you've had to travel I hope it was a safe journey for you. I hope your days are stress free and full of joy. Thanks for taking the time to catch my blog, post comments, and email me this year. This blog gives you just a glimpse of what I'm like and that's all. I developed a love for pornography at a very early age which is evident in this blog. So thanks for tolerating that stuff as well as my sarcasm. I know I might come across as vicious if you have read some of my comments on other blogs but I'm always thinking you just consider the source.
Again, best wishes!

Last Night
I went to see Milk last night. I learned a few things. It's an important part of history. But it was a bit boring and maybe because I go in with my preconceived opinions of Sean Penn. I've never liked him but I kind of got lost on him as Harvey Milk. So maybe that's a testament to his acting abilities.Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I Know Many Of You Are Suffering
Especially if you're traveling this week. But this stuff is beautiful!
A giant star on a Macy's store shines as heavy snow falls late at night Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, in downtown Seattle, which rarely sees such major snow levels. Very few cars were on city streets at night, but there was heavy pedestrian traffic as people took in the sights and sounds of the winter storm. AP photo

Dang! No ISP For A Day Or So
It must be the fog??? We are on a roller coaster ride as far as weather. The temperatures in the 60's with a dew point to match. Just a bit damp. It's suppose to be warm through the weekend and then another cold front with freezing temps by Sunday. I know it has to get past most of you before it gets here. Since, as many of my relatives say, I live at the end of the world. Not really, there's 45 more miles of swamp land between me and the Gulf Coast. At any rate, I know most of you are experiencing all kinds of crazy stuff as well. Like SNOW!!!!!! You can send some my way except not the days I have to travel please. Now that would reek havoc on ISPs, traffic lights, transformers.

Texans Beat #1 Tennessee Titans
Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson (80) pulls down a 13-yard touchdown reception over Tennessee Titans defensive back Chris Carr in the second quarter of Sunday's game at Reliant Stadium. We might actually win more than lose this year and have the best season for the teams franchise history. Hey and Dallas beat the Giants tonight too. Oh and Christms came early for the Steelers today thanks to the officiating. Football is gettin good!!!!Brett Coomer: Chronicle photo

Going Through The Motions:About Last Night
Last night I went to my bosses home for our Christmas party. Their neighborhood was decorated quit nicely and uniformly.
I'm somewhat depressed after being at some one's home when it is so much nicer than mine.
I'm not jealous of what they have just saddened by what I have.lol But it is pleasing nonetheless to see such fine displays of what a little cash can buy.
They put on a good spread but I'm a bit particular. I don't care for spicy or anything fishy like salmon or pussy. Just dust me with some flour and sugar.

Blizzard
Actually the east side of the city had a good ground cover when they woke up this morning, about 2 to 4 inches in the east and just north of the city. Sadly no accumulation on my side of town here on the southwest side of Houston. But it was coming down pretty good yesterday afternoon and through the night. I was excited so I can imagine what kids thought this morning when they saw snow on the ground.

Little Bitches
I went outside this morning to uncover my potted plants and found my first chewed up ornament of 2008. I love M&Ms too but I have issues with this behavior. I thought they were sleeping peacefully all night. Now when I hear them go out the pet door late at night I will think they are up to something.

Crazy Weather:Depressed?
I just felt my heat kick on. I had to go look at the thermostat. It's set on 65 degrees. It's a dark day in the low 30's here in southeast Texas. It's been balmy and in the 70's for the last 3 days following a cold snap that lasted one day last Friday so who know what tomorrow will be like. There's actually a light rain falling mixed with sleet and light snow this morning. So they say on the tube, I'm not venturing out.
With just three weeks left in the year I have personal days and such that need to be used at work and it looks as if I chose a good day to use one. Who'd want to get out today? Well, actually I LOVE cold cloudy days. I suppose because there are so few of them here. So I think I will finish decorating my Christmas tree. That would be a good thing don't you think with just over 2 weeks till Christmas?
Speaking of my tree, do you think that is a sign of depression that I put my tree up a week ago and only got as far as putting lights on it. My father had been here and I've had a cold which kind of whipped me so I have somewhat good excuses for my lack of holiday spirit. In addition, we do gift swapping with my brother and his brood(that way they can hit all relatives and friends every weekend throughout December to make their haul) the weekend after Thanksgiving so that often either kicks start the season or kills it for me. At any rate, wish me luck on getting my tree done today. This cold ,cold wintry day here in Texas.

No More Of This Crap
Well, actually I was starting to develop an appetite for a "country breakfast". My father and his dog from Hell went back home over the weekend. While he was here I was in the cooking mode since he likes three meals a day and especially a rather large breakfast for a man in his mid nineties. This guy has never weighed over 140 pounds so you'd think all he wanted for breakfast would be maybe a piece of toast and a cup of coffee. Not hardly. Glad he has such a good appetite and disposition nonetheless. So I miss him and the routine I developed while he was here and I'm back to cold cereal for breakfast.

What Happened To Carrie Fisher?
I was watching the Today show this morning and Matt was interviewing Carrie Fisher. At least, that is what the banner along the bottom of the screen said. I thought it was Brenda Vacarro. She has put on a lot of weight but moreover she looked nothing like herself or the Carrie I know. She didn't look like it was the result of bad surgery either. I don't know when the last time was that I saw her but the years have not been kind. Reminded me to avoid all mirrors today.

Color Me Sucker
I have the worse luck with electronics of any kind. My brother gave me this HP officejet all-in-one printer over Thanksgiving saying he didn't need it anymore. That should have been a clue there. He had no paperwork or software for it either. So I search and download a driver for it. So far so good. I found a manual for it on line and printed it out at work, almost 90 pages worth. Then I hook it up and panel says it's out of ink. I go to three stores before I find the #14 ink cartridges for this model. Now low and behold it says the printing heads are bad. I see that heads go for $35 bucks each at Office Depot and homey ain't gonna play dat game. This baby is going to Goodwill tomorrow along with my other HP printer of mine that wouldn't feed paper. So faithful readers, any suggestions for a printer? I don't need all the other crap such as copiers, scanners, etc. I don't really print that much but this time of year it would come in handy to have a printer at home. Also, my processor is over 7 years old this year. I need a new puter. Should I go laptop??? I'm not going to carry it around with me everywhere but should I go that route. Hey suggestions will be much appreciated.

Cold Again
Not the weather. Actually it is rather cool for here, down to 40 degrees or so at night and mid 50's during the day. Perfect in my opinion but I wasn't intending on posting about the weather. Instead I have another damn cold. I say another cause it seemed like last month I was sick as a dog but it was last April when I got a cold and cough that I couldn't shake. It starts the same way a scratchy throat which results in swollen and irritated tonsils in my case. Then the next day the head cold aspect of it with a runny nose which I'm enduring now so I have the week of coughing left to look forward to. So much for taking flu shots. I wonder if stress of the holidays have anything to do with it? I notice my back has been somewhat spastic as well. I don't feel stressed though. I'm not one of those that's afraid to say no. At any rate, I don't like being under the weather nor do I like looking like Rudolf. Stay well!

Orange Delight?
Well it was suppose to be. I improvised on the recipe that I got over at Richard's blog. It never fails I think I have everything when I start something and then realize that I don't. Oil well. There's none left so it must have been pretty good. I didn't even have a gelatin mold so I just used a plastic bowl. I didn't have crushed pineapple( I swear I thought I did Richard)so I used mandarin oranges nor did I chop the pecans as suggested. But like I said everyone seem to like it so no smart ass remarks. My father especially liked it. I suppose older folks, those in their mid 90's as my father is, loves that soft stuff as opposed to that rock hard stuff. At any rate, thanks for the recipe Richard.
